As we sit on the tarmac waiting for weather to clear up, here are some pictures of our visit to Arlington National Cemetery on our last day in DC. We enjoyed our trip and getting to see our nation's capital, but are also anxious for the weather to clear and get back to the Good Life!

Day 3 was another busy day for the Falcons as we visited Gettysburg, the FDR Memorial, as well as taking some time to explore Old Town Alexandria! Today we wrap up our trip with a visit to Arlington National Cemetery.

The Falcons had a busy and impactful Day 2 in DC. After our morning on Capitol Hill, we spent the afternoon visiting the 9/11 Memorial at the Pentagon, the MLK Monument, as well as the Holocaust Museum. This evening we visited the Korean War Memorial, the Vietnam Wall, where we found the name of a local veteran, Michael Ruhter of Minden, who died in combat in 1969. We then ended our day visiting the Lincoln Memorial. Tomorrow we are off to Gettysburg!

Band Camp is almost here!
This is for all band members 7th-12th grade.
We still need 3 more volunteers to bring snacks and drinks. Email elaine.arehart@whfalcons.org if you can help.

Starting our day with a tour of the Capitol!

The Falcons made one more pit stop tonight after supper...the White House! What a way to wrap up a busy first day in DC!

After traveling all night and morning, the Falcons have landed in DC!! Students and adults have been busy since we landed, seeing the Jefferson Memorial, the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, and American History! Before taking a break to eat dinner, we stopped at the World War II Memorial along the reflecting pool, which provided perfect shots of the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial!

For students and parents going on the DC trip: Mr. Whipkey will be at the school by 10:00 pm Saturday night to let anyone in the building who may need to use the restroom, fill up water bottles, etc, before the bus arrives at approximately 10:30. Looking forward to a great trip!!
