WHPS is making a change to the academic calendar. There will NO be school for students on Monday, Nov 29 or Wednesday, Dec 22. These will now be teacher workdays.

The junior high students will be leaving at 6 am from Wilcox to go to the UNL pep rally in Lincoln. All students can go, regardless of eligibility. Please remember to pack a mask. A slice of pizza and water will be provided. Students can bring money for concession stands.

Last week, we celebrated the seniors with an Apply to College Day event. The seniors submitted their applications and decorated coffee cups with their future plans. Congrats, seniors!
Thank you to everyone who has brought food for the food drive! The total items as of now is 450. That is 28% of our goal. Here are the rankings: 1st Place-3rd Grade, 2nd Place-Kindergarten, 3rd Place-4th Grade, 4th Place-6th Grade, 5th Place-1st Grade, 6th Place-2nd Grade, & 7th Place-TIE between Preschool and 5th Grade. The Access Periods with the most items right now are: Tie for 1st Place-Mrs. Simons and Ms. Johnsons!, 3rd Place-Mrs. Lovins, & 4th Place-Ms. Martins. Keep collecting you have until next Thursday!
Monday, we will be hosting our 2nd annual Falcon Play Production Festival! Seven schools (including ours) will be competing. The first play begins at 9:00 a.m. Wilcox-Hildreth will perform at 3:15 p.m. We welcome you to join us to watch the plays!
Today our sophomores took our school’s first ever Pre-ACT test to help prepare them for their state ACT test they will take their junior year. I was so proud of how hard they worked and how focused they were during their test. Nice work, sophomores!

Today, 4th Grade participated in a spooky Science activity to create a skeleton hand! We have been learning all about skeletons! Happy Halloween!!

Congratulations to Chase Johnson on being one of 48 students from across the state to become a Believer and Achiever Award winner. Chase will receive his award at halftime of the 6 man state championship game in Kearney on Nov. 19th.
