Fall athletics officially have their first competitions this week, while many other activities have events this week also! On Thursday, the volleyball team begins their season with a home dual against Loomis, and the cross country team heads to Axtell for their first meet of the year. Before the Falcon football team kicks off their 2025 season Friday night, join us for a pre-game tailgate sponsored by Wilcox-Hildreth Youth Sports! The Spanish classes spent the week working on some team building activities. They worked hard to think outside the box, trying to make the longest chains out of 1 sheet of paper and the tallest towers out of index cards with similarities they have written on them!

Just sending out an informational post about how to join the new Remind for FFA, the FFA BBQ coming up, and FFA Dues.

The Back-to-School FFA BBQ is coming up Tuesday, August 26th at 6:30. Hamburgers, chips, and drinks will be provided. Seniors and Juniors have been asked to bring a dessert. Sophomores and Freshmen have been asked to bring a side. Thank you in advance to parents/guardians for assisting your student(s).

FFA Dues will need to be turned in before the chapter attends Husker Harvest Days on September 10th. High School FFA Dues are $25 and Junior High FFA Dues are $15. I will also be handing out a code of ethics to the students in FFA. Along with the student's signature, a parent/guardian will need to sign as well.

Wilcox-Hildreth Student Council is hosting the second annual corn hole tournament at the Wilcox park on September 13. Bring a teammate and $20 to register at 12:00. The tournament will start at half time of the Husker game. Winners will receive a fall/Husker themed gift basket!

Our volleyball team gets our 2025-2026 activities kicked off with their jamboree triangular in Axtell Thursday night! No passes are accepted as this is a fundraiser for the Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame; admission is $6 for all. Construction is still taking place at the Axtell building, so spectators will need to use the entrance on the Northwest side of the building (see attached image for reference).

Tomorrow morning there will be a script read-through in the English room at 7:00 a.m. Students interested in auditioning are welcome to attend! Auditions will be held Tuesday, August 26th at 7:00 a.m. in the English room. A new and exciting school year is off to a great start!
